This years’s topic will be discussing the collaborative effort required among creatives, private sector and government. Speakers from each sector will be required to speak on expectations or obligations they need satisfied in order to collaborate with the other.
Internal collaborations.
This is collaborations between creatives themselves. There aren’t many spaces where one can meet another individual in the fashion industry. Most of us creatives are shelled in our boxes and no working relationships exist thereof. In order for the fashion industry to grow there has to be a cohesive force of fashion creatives. Besides who better understands our struggles than each other moreover who better celebrate our victories than each other.
Fashion Meet Up is created for the genuine connections of fashion creatives. There has to be a space where we can meet one another, share ideas and form relationships.- a cosy social melieu. It is important for the growth of the fashion industry. We need to be internally connected before we connect with the private sector or government. Besides that meeting up with one another makes us appreciate the diversity in each of us. The more we celebrate our diversity, the more we build our creativity. Not only do we need to focus on collaborations amongst ourselves but with other areas of the creative industry. We are currently living in a tech world that one cannot ignore. Technology must, in order for our work to be viewed and appreciated, be part of the awakening of the sleeping giant.
External collaborations
We are in a place of unexpected change and globalization, and must acknowledge that creativity and innovation are now driving the new economy of many countries. Organizations and even economic regions that embrace creativity generate significantly higher revenue and provide greater stability into the future. The government and private sector are crucial elements required for us to reach to this new economy. They enable the environment to which we can fulfill our innovative and creative ideas.
Unfortunately we do not fully appreciate the importance of collaboration for the growth of the fashion industry or necessary for driving this new economy.
